Peppol Code Lists version 8.0 released

Peppol Code Lists version 8.0 released

Codelist version 8.0

We have now released version 8.0 of the codelists. The updated codelists can be found at https://docs.peppol.eu/edelivery/codelists/

The Change Log can be found at https://docs.peppol.eu/edelivery/codelists/changelog.html

There are a large number of new document types and process identifiers that have been added to version 8.0. While the majority of these are fairly standard the ‘Norwegian Payment’ domain and associated documents types are a new inclusion.

In addition, we have changed the format of the codelists to include a couple of extra columns ‘State’, ‘Deprecation release’ and ‘Removal date’. This will make it clearer for the community when document types cease to be used.

Annex 4 Changes

Throughout the course of last year updates were made to Annex 4 of the Transport Infrastructure Agreements.

The updates to the Annex 4 document alter many of the specifications used in the network. Specifically, the following specifications have been updated:

  • BusDoX Common Definitions → no longer used
  • SMP 1.1.0 → 1.2.0
  • SML 1.0.1 → 1.2.0
  • Peppol Policy for use of Identifiers 4.0.0 → 4.1.0
  • Peppol Secure Transport Policy 1.0 → 1.1.0
  • Peppol AS4 Profile 2.0.0 → 2.0.2
  • Peppol SBDH Envelope Specification 1.1.1 → 1.2.1
  • Peppol Directory 1.1 → 1.1.1

The updated specifications can be found at https://docs.peppol.eu/edelivery/

Most of the updates are straightforward and do not require a migration period. However, the SMP and Policy for use of Identifiers specifications contain changes that require a migration period.

Service Metadata Publishing specification – Migration policy

Among other changes the update clarifies the use of ServiceActivationDate and ServiceExpriationDate. Service Providers may need to make technical changes to their solution to align with the updated clarification.

Service Providers will have until 00:00 UTC 01 May 2022, to make any necessary changes. After this time Service Providers may be considered non-compliant.

Policy for use of Identifiers – Migration Policy

Among other changes the update extends the allowed characters for Participant Identifier values to include the following characters:

  • Minus sign (“-“)
  • Period character (“.”)
  • Underscore character (“_”)
  • Tilde character (“~”)

It should be noted that the 0204 Participant Identifier scheme is already in operation with new characters. Any Service Providers servicing end users with this scheme may continue to do so.

Service Providers will have until 00:00 UTC 01 May 2022 to make any necessary technical changes to their solutions to allow for the use of these additional characters. From 00:00 UTC 01 May 2022, Service Providers must be able to register end users with these new characters and send and receive to any end user with an identifiers that uses those characters. After this time Service Providers may be considered non-compliant.
