We also encourage other associations, academic institutions, trade bodies and related IT solution providers to join the OpenPeppol community as Observers. As Associate Members, Observers may attend OpenPeppol meetings but are not eligible to vote or take up elected positions.

Benefits

By becoming a member of OpenPeppol, public and private sector organisations have a unique opportunity to join forces and drive the adoption of common standards, process automation and connectivity around the world

OpenPeppol members can:

  • influence the adoption of common standards
  • ensure the relevance and usability of Peppol specifications and services
  • influence the expansion of Peppol specifications into new areas of use
  • access a wide group of large and small organisations from a variety of public and private sectors

Members of OpenPeppol communities can:

  • attend and vote at the General Assembly
  • apply for appointment to elected positions
  • join regular face-to-face and web community meetings
  • join work groups established within a community

Obligations

Members of OpenPeppol are expected to participate, on a volunteer basis, in the activities of relevant Domain and Stakeholder Communities to ensure a collaborative approach to the work of the Association.

As a condition of membership, all OpenPeppol members and associate members shall:

  • accept the Statutes of the Association
  • pay the relevant subscription fees

Additionally, full members shall, as a minimum:

  • join their relevant Stakeholder Community
  • in the case of Peppol Authorities, join the eDelivery Community
  • in the case of Service Providers, join the eDelivery and at least one other Domain Community

Members may also optionally participate in additional Domain Communities in line with their areas of interest.

OpenPeppol membership fee structure

Upon registration, for Peppol Authority members, the sign-up fee and the annual fee is payable in full.

Upon registration, for all other member categories, the sign-up fee is payable in full, together with the Candidate Service Provider annual fee, which is pro-rata for the remainder of the calendar year, including the month of joining. The annual fee is then paid in advance for each subsequent calendar year.

Upon certification, the Service Provider is billed the difference between the Certified Service Provider annual fee and the Candidate Service Provider annual fee.

Notes:

  1. These fees apply to all new members joining from 1 July 2024 onwards.
  2. For members who joined before 1 July 2024, these fees apply from 1 January 2025.
  3. Other membership sub-categories and fees may be set at any time by decision of the OpenPeppol Managing Committee

Membership Application Form

Candidate members must submit a completed and signed Application Form, which can be obtained by writing to: membership@peppol.eu 

Please sign and email a PDF copy of your completed Application Form to membership@peppol.eu and the OpenPeppol Operating Office will review the application and notify you of the next steps to become a member. 

Participation

On application, Peppol Authority and Service Provider candidate members must nominate which of the four Domain Communities in which they will participate:

  • eDeC – eDelivery Community
  • PoAC – Post Award Community
  • PrAC – Pre Award Community
  • CTCC – CTC Community

Please note that participation in:

  • eDeC is mandatory for all Peppol Authorities and Service Providers
  • PoAC is mandatory for all Post Award Service Providers
  • PrAC is mandatory for all Pre Award Service Providers

In addition to the mandatory participation requirements, Peppol Authorities, Service Providers and End User members may also choose to participate in any other Domain Community

Legal Agreements

Peppol Authorities sign the Peppol Authority Agreement with OpenPeppol.

Service Providers sign the Peppol Service Provider Agreement with the Peppol Authority in the jurisdiction where they are based.

Where no Peppol Authority exists within the jurisdiction where they are based, Service Providers can sign the Service Provider Agreement with OpenPeppol, which acts as the Coordinating Authority.

The Peppol Authority Agreement and the Service Provider Agreement can be downloaded from the Library.

Peppol services are provided to End User members by Peppol-accredited Service Providers and are subject to commercial agreements agreed between the two parties.
